TOWN OF FREEDOM
The filing period for vacancies for Town and School District elected positions will commence on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 and run through Friday, February 3rd, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. The following positions are open for filing:
TOWN OFFICES:
- One (1) Selectman — three (3) year term
- One (1) Trustee of the Trust Funds — three (3) year term
- One (1) Cemetery Trustee — three (3) year term
- Two (2) Library Trustees — three (3) year terms
- One (1) Planning Board Member – one (1) year term
- Two (2) Planning Board Members — three (3) year terms
SCHOOL OFFICES:
- One (1) Moderator — one (1) year term
- Two (2) School Board Members — three (3) year terms
- One (1) Auditor — one (1) year term
- One (1) Clerk — one (1) year term
Filings may be made with the Town Clerk on Monday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesdays 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursdays 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Friday, February 03, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. PLEASE NOTE: to avoid wait times, appointments are recommended.

SUPERVISORS OF THE CHECKLIST
The Supervisors of the Checklist for the Town of Freedom will hold a session for accepting applications for new voter registration and accepting requests for corrections to the Voter Checklist, and/or change of political party affiliation.
Date: Saturday, March 4th, 2023
Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
Location: Freedom Town Hall, 16 Elm Street
To register, you will need to provide proof of your identity, age, citizenship, and domicile (residence). Proof can be either by documents, or if you do not have documents with you by affidavit.
We still recommend wearing a mask and continuing the practice of social distancing.

Velma Hormell Receives Boston Post Cane
UncategorizedAt the Selectmen’s Meeting held on Monday, June 7, 2021, Chairman Les Babb presented Freedom resident Velma Hormell with a proclamation and the Boston Post Cane. At 96 years young, Velma is the 25th Freedom resident, as well as the fourth member of her family to receive the cane.
Jamie Mullen Sworn-In As Police Chief
UncategorizedOfficer Jamie Mullen was sworn-in as Freedom’s Police Chief during the Selectmen’s Meeting held on Monday, June 7, 2021. Mullen was promoted by the Board of Selectmen following Chief Josh Shackford’s announcement of retirement effective June 3, 2021.
