The Selectmen and Transfer Station Manager, Justin Brooks, are pleased to roll out the first of many improvements to enhance your experience and efficiencies at the Transfer Station.  Effective October 1, 2022 – we will be moving to a year-round operation schedule of 8:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  To assist with the change, we will have signs posted throughout town and at the transfer station to help remind us of the new hours of operation.

The following temporary schedule will be in effect the week of September 24-30 while we make the transition to the permanent year-round schedule:

Saturday, September 24 – 8 am – 4 pm

Sunday, September 25 – 8 am – 4 pm

Wednesday, September 28 – 8 am – 4 pm

We look forward to servicing you better – look for additional improvements in the weeks and months to come!

Transportation and Disposal of

Municipal Solid Waste

 The Town of Freedom is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors to provide transportation, disposal, and recycling services for Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), Demolition Debris (Demo Debris), Bulky Items and Single Stream Recyclables.  The Vendor must be qualified and licensed to service solid waste transfer stations in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local laws and must be willing to enter into a contract that will expire no sooner than December 31, 2025.

RFP packets are available at the Town Office Monday-Thursday 8am-3pm at 33 Old Portland Road, Freedom, NH or by clicking the link below.  Proposals will be accepted until noon on Monday, October 17, 2022 and will be opened that evening at the regular weekly meeting of the Board of Selectmen.

The Town of Freedom reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals.

 

 

At the Selectmen’s Meeting held on Monday, June 7, 2021, Chairman Les Babb presented Freedom resident Velma Hormell with a proclamation and the Boston Post Cane.  At 96 years young, Velma is the 25th Freedom resident, as well as the fourth member of her family to receive the cane.

 

Officer Jamie Mullen was sworn-in as Freedom’s Police Chief during the Selectmen’s Meeting held on Monday, June 7, 2021.  Mullen was promoted by the Board of Selectmen following Chief Josh Shackford’s announcement of retirement effective June 3, 2021.
