Forest Advisory Committee
The Forest Advisory Committee is a sub–committee of the Freedom Conservation Commission and helps to manage the forest for the Town of Freedom.
The Forest Advisory Committee meets on the Third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall.
The Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) currently has three member vacancies and one alternate vacancy. The FAC develops projects, establishes proposed budgets, oversees annual maintenance of the town forest, and creates an annual updated report for the town. The FAC is a standing sub-committee under the Freedom Conservation Commission. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the town hall. The annual Town Forest Visitation, conducted by the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR), will be held on Tuesday, 3 December 2024, at 9:00 am. The site visit will begin with a briefing by the town forester, Barry Keith, in his office and may include a tour of forest locations selected by the state inspector.
